A city of Macedonia between Amphipolis and Thessalonica, from which it was distant about 36 miles. Paul and Silas passed through it on their way to Thessalonica (Acts 17:1).

But the Apollonia through which Paul passed, Acts 17:1, was a city of Macedonia, about 36 miles east of Thessalonica, and 30 miles south-west of Amphipolis. Lewin locates it at the modern Polina.
