ASAI'AH (whom Jehovah made). 1. A Simeonite chief in Hezekiah's time. 1 Chr 4:36, 1 Chr 4:41. A Levite of David's time, chief of the Merari, who assisted in bringing up the ark to Jerusalem. 1 Chr 6:30, 1 Chr 24:31; 1 Chr 15:6,Rev 1:11. According to 1 Chr 9:5, the firstborn of the Shilonite; called, in Neh 11:5, Maaseiah. 2 Chr 34:20. See Asahiah.
