Brother of pleasantness = pleasant. (1.) The daughter of Ahimaaz, and wife of Saul (1 Sam. 14:50). (2.) A Jezreelitess, the first wife of David (1 Sam. 25:43; 27:3). She was the mother of Amnon (2 Sam. 3:2). (See 1 Sam. 30:5, 18; 2 Sam. 2:2.)

AHIN'OAM (brother of pleasantness, i. e. pleasant). 1. The daughter of Ahimaaz, and the wife of Saul. 1 Sam 14:50. A woman of Jezreel, and one of David's wives. 1 Sam 25:43. She was taken captive by the Amalekites in the siege of Ziklag, and afterward rescued from captivity by David. 1 Sam 30:5, 1 Sam 30:18. She lived with him while he was king of Judah in Hebron, and was the mother of Amnon, his eldest son. 2 Sam 2:2; 2 Sam 3:2; 1 Chr 3:1.
