A pomegranate breach, or Rimmon of the breach, one of the stations of the Israelites in the wilderness (Num. 33:19, 20).

RIM'MON-PA'REZ (pomegranate of the breach), an encampment of the Israelites in the wilderness. Num 33:19-20. The phrase probably refers to some special breaking forth of the wrath of God, as at Korah's rebellion. Reland suggests that it may be found at Jebel Ikhrimm, 75 miles south-southwest of Beer-sheba. Rings and Signets. 1, 2. Assyrian Rings in the British Museum. 3, 4. Porcelain Rings. 5, 6, 7. Egyptian Rings, with impressions from them.

as seals. "When used for ornament, they were worn not only on the fingers and in the ears, but also around the wrists and ankles and in the nostrils. Isa 3:20-21; Luke 15:22; Jas 2:2. As a seal the ring became a token of authority, and the giving of a ring the sign of imparting authority, Gen 41:42; Esth 3:10, Jud 4:12; Dan 6:17. See Clothes.
