Store cities which the Israelites built for the Egyptians (Ex. 1:11). (See PITHOM.) Towns in which the treasures of the kings of Judah were kept were so designated (1 Chr. 27:25).

The kings of Judah had keepers of their treasure both in city and country, 1 Chr 27:25, and the towns where these treasures were deposited were called "treasure-cities," and the magazines or houses for their safekeeping were called "treasure-houses."
